TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities in Leon County have issued an arrest warrant for Florida State running back James Wilder Jr.
The 20-year-old sophomore running back is wanted for violating the terms of his probation from an incident in February when he was charged with resisting arrest without violence.
Florida State football coach Jimbo Fisher was unavailable to comment on Wilder's situation. School spokesman Elliott Finebloom said no statement was planned by the university. Finebloom noted that Wilder was charged with a misdemeanor and is not automatically subject to a mandatory suspension which applies in the case of a felony.
Wilder's first season with the Seminoles was in 2011 when he rushed for 160 yards in limited action. He is the son of James Wilder, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' all-time career rushing leader.
