New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The Red Hot Chili Peppers will join Grammy Award-winner Bruno Mars to perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLVIII.

The NFL made the announcement Saturday that the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who have sold more than 60 million albums and have won six Grammys, will perform at the game, to be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on February 2. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2012.

More than 110.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year's halftime show, which is sponsored by Pepsi. Last year's headline performer was Beyonce Knowles.
