Smith, Griffin named NBA's Players of the Week

New York, NY (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Hawks' Josh Smith and the Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin have been named the players of the week for games played between Dec. 3 and Dec. 9.

Smith averaged a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds in helping the Hawks to a 3-0 record, while Griffin tallied 23 points and 10 rebounds over four games for the Clippers, who were also victorious in each of their contests during the week.

Other players considered for the award were Smith's teammate Al Horford, Boston's Rajon Rondo, Chicago's Joakim Noah, the Grizzlies' Zach Randolph, San Antonio's Tony Parker and Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
