PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - THE PLAYERS Championship is on schedule despite more rain on Saturday.

More than a half a foot of rain has fallen on the famed Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in the last 72 hours, but officials are now looking forward to what looks to be a beautiful forecast next week when the tournament begins.

An event called Operation Shower was moved inside to TPC Clubhouse this afternoon because of the rains and on Friday the Donna 5K was postponed until May 18th.

It was also announced Friday that the course will be closed to fans on Monday, but tickets will be valid during the Tuesday practice round.

The agronomy crew at TPC Sawgrass has 60 volunteers from around the country helping pump water from the golf course and clean up standing water from other spectator areas.

Officals for THE PLAYERS Championship thought the rain would be clear later on Sunday afternoon, but it looks like they might get a break before that.  Officials do not believe the course will play too soft when the tournament begins on Thursday.
