Bristol, CT ( - Former Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow will be a college football analyst for the SEC Network when it launches next year and will contribute to a variety of ESPN programs as part of a multi-year deal announced Monday.

Tebow will make his first appearance as a TV analyst during ESPN's pregame coverage of next Monday's BCS National Championship Game between Florida State and Auburn.

His primary role with the SEC Network will be as an analyst for "SEC Nation." The pregame show will be broadcast from a different SEC campus each week, much like ESPN's "College GameDay."

A dual-threat quarterback, Tebow was on two national championship-winning teams at Florida and captured the 2007 Heisman Trophy. He saw only flashes of success in the NFL, including 14 games as a starter for the Denver Broncos from 2010-11.

Tebow was cut by the New England Patriots prior to this season, but ESPN said his role in the two networks "will not preclude him from continuing to pursue playing opportunities in the NFL."

ESPN and the Southeastern Conference will operate the SEC Network and other platforms under a 20-year agreement. The network is set to launch in August.
