JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--Is the Houston Texans defense really that good or is the Jacksonville offense that bad? That is the question after the 27-7 loss at Everbank Field. What looked like a much improved unit during the preseason turned out a franchise low 117 yards and only held the football for 16:43.
The offense never got untracked. Justin Blackmon was targeted on four passes but gets shutout in his second NFL game. Blaine Gabbert was sacked 3 times for a loss of 24 yards. The offense failed to convert a 3rd down going 0-9 in conversion attempts. Yes, there are injuries on the offensive line, but every team has injuries. Harold Taylor got here this week and started Sunday at left guard. Guy Whimper filled in at right tackle.
The Jags take an 0-2 record to Indianpolis to face the Colts next Sunday.
