Today, our dog, Lacey escaped from our apartment. The maintenance men were checking the fire alarms in our building. This frightened Lacey so much that when the men opened our door of our apartment, Lacey ran out into a panic.
As the maintenance men were searching for her, she was found on Butler Blvd by a fellow Jacksonville resident. The woman watched Lacey get hit by a car and immediately rushed her to Coastal Veterinary Hospital. This is when I came home from work and started searching for Lacey myself. I was in dismay when my sister called and let me know about an add she found on CraigsList. The resident had put an add in the "Lost and Found" section and put up a picture of our sweet dog. I called immediately and met her at Coastal. The doctors were so hopeful and pleasant. Lacey managed to come out of the vet with some bad scratches and bruising, but it could have been a lot worse! It felt wonderful to know that Lacey had people looking after her. I am so grateful for the wonderful citizens of Jacksonville for saving Lacey's life.
