The League of Women Voters of Florida's "League University" program is designed to offer specialized training to help young professionals develop the skills they need to become leaders in their communities.

Participants will learn leadership skills such as public speaking, conducting a meeting using parliamentary procedure, fundraising and cultivating donors, dressing for success, and communicating with the media.

The following tracks allow registrants to select the workshops best suited to their interests:

The So, You Want to Run for Office? track is designed to help individuals who are interested in working in politics, or are considering running for elected office in the near or distant future.

The workshops offered for this track are:

Developing Your Platform/Communications
Fundraising and Cultivating Donors
"What I Wish I Knew...": A Panel Discussion with Elected Officials

The So, You Want to Serve on a Board or Be Politically Active? track is designed to help individuals who are interested in becoming community leaders or advocates.

The workshops offered for this track are:

Reducing Public Speaking Nervousness
Using Evidence to Sell Your Point Of View
How to Run a Meeting Using Parliamentary Procedure

The registration fee is $75.00, which includes lunch. Need-based scholarships are available. Childcare will also be offered upon request.
