The Jack Del Rio Foundation will further its mission to motivate the community to meet the needs of underserved children in Northeast Florida by hosting a fundraiser at TPC Sawgrass featuring a VIP dinner Celebration on Thursday evening, October 16, followed by a celebrity charity golf tournament on TPC Sawgrass’ PLAYERS Stadium Course on Friday, October 17. 

Proceeds from the event will benefit a variety of local non-profit organizations, including Seamark Ranch, a home for abused, neglected and abandoned children; Community Asthma Partnership at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, an awareness, outreach and resource program that addresses the serious impact of asthma in the community; Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northeast Florida, a youth mentoring organization; and Cathedral Arts Project, the largest provider of free, ongoing and standards-based arts instruction for underserved elementary school children in Duval County.

“We are very appreciative to TPC Sawgrass and the PGA TOUR for opening their doors and their hearts to the Jack Del Rio Foundation,” said Jack Del Rio, who started the Foundation with his wife, Linda after moving to Jacksonville in 2003.  “Linda and I feel a strong connection to this wonderful community, and see a huge need to help improve the lives of children in Northeast Florida.  With the help of the entire community, we can truly make a difference in the lives of many local kids while helping children learn that hope, good character and hard work can result in a better life.”

The VIP Celebration on Thursday, October 16 begins at 7:00 pm in TPC Sawgrass’ magnificent 77,000 square-foot Mediterranean Revival style clubhouse, featuring a lavish dinner, dancing, live entertainment and auction.  Tickets are $250 per person for the Celebration only.  The Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, October 17 begins with lunch at 11:30 am, followed by the shotgun start tournament at 1:00 pm in which three tournament entrants will be paired with one celebrity golfer.  A post-tournament cocktail reception and awards ceremony will follow.  Entry into the tournament is $7,500 per team, and includes green and cart fees, lunch, cocktails, and six tickets to the VIP Celebration the night before.  A variety of sponsorship packages are also available.
