2012 FIREHOUSE SUBS MEN'S DOUBLES TENNIS TOURNAMENT OFFERS WORLD-CLASS COMPETITION, FAMILY FUN AND RAISES FUNDS FOR FIREHOUSE SUBS PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Firehouse Subs® presents the 38th annual Firehouse Subs Men's Doubles Tennis Tournament, May 18 - 20, 2012, at Deerwood Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla. Sponsored by Firehouse Subs for the past 13 years, the tournament brings nationally ranked players for world class competition and has raised more than $1.9 million, benefiting various charities. This year's recipient, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, provides vital funding and life-saving equipment to first responders, from bunker gear and rescue dogs to extrication tools and thermal imaging cameras. Firehouse Subs will be serving up hot subs each day and all proceeds benefit the Foundation.

Tennis enthusiasts enjoy the main attraction, with nationally ranked tennis players volleying for the grand prize in the largest amateur tennis tournament in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. Beginning each day at 8 a.m., contenders in the open division compete for a portion of the $10,000 cash pot.
Families, come experience Saturday's FREE activities, featuring live tennis, hearty food, a silent auction and carnival-like atmosphere for the kids. All-day fun with face painters and bounce houses will entertain the young ones, as adults enjoy the 4 p.m., free Cannonball Punch Blowout party sponsored by Mojo's BBQ. Tournament attendees take advantage of the Silent Auction, beginning Friday and closing Saturday at 5 p.m., for chances to bid on vacation getaways, golf packages, entertainment and sports memorabilia and more.

Firehouse Subs, founded in Jacksonville, Fla., by former firefighting brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen, is a 506-unit fast casual restaurant chain. Firehouse Subs offers oversized portions of premium hand-sliced meats and cheeses, steamed to make the flavors burst, then piled high with fresh produce atop a toasted sub roll. The restaurants reflect the authentic firefighter heritage of the founding family's 200 years of firefighting service.

In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders. Through the non-profit 501(c)(3), Firehouse Subs has given more than $3.9 million to hometown heroes, impacting 374 communities.
