Residents of Jacksonville will have the unique opportunity to meet each other and develop new friendships when LaMee Florist hosts the annual Good Neighbor Day event on September 1, 2010. Beginning at 7:00am Lamee Florist will give away hundreds flowers in bunches of a half dozen, absolutely FREE to anyone who visits the shop, while supplies last. This year, we are partnering with The Second Harvest Food Bank. We ask that everyone bring a canned and/or a non-perishable food item or bags of items so we can fill our Box Truck for Second Harvest Food Bank. Good Neighbor day is about meeting your neighbors and helping those in need. We have asked Mayor Peyton to issue a proclamation naming Wednesday, September 1st Good Neighbor Day.
Rose Jackson, the owner of LaMee Florist asks that anyone who picks up a half dozen free flowers keep one of the flowers for themselves and give the others away to 5 different people – spreading goodwill and friendship in the community. What better way to meet a new neighbor or just brighten someone’s day!
LaMee has been an avid supporter in the community for more than 50 years and believes there is no better way to bring the community together than to show generosity and encouragement. We really look forward to meeting members of the community and helping The Second Harvest Food Bank in the process.
Good Neighbor Day is being celebrated for the 15th year throughout the United States and Canada as a day of celebrating goodwill toward all people.
We hope to run out of flowers and in the process, and fill our Box Truck for The Second Harvest Food Bank!
Please join us on September 1st beginning at 7:00am!
