‘Horses for Heroes’ Fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, Sept 8th, 2012 from 11am-3pm @ the Ft. Menendez Barn (corner of SR16 & San Marco in St. Augustine). Diamonds in the Rough Horse Farm proudly introduces ‘Horses for Heroes’, a program that offers Military Veterans un-mounted interaction with the farms’ equine therapists in an effort to reduce the severity of PTSD symptoms. The event will feature Master Gunnery Sergeant Daniel Russ, Marine Corp Retired and ‘Blondie’, a Quarter horse used in the program whose past includes Eventing.  Food, including 5-star Pizza and homemade baked goods, drinks and many gifts items for donors will be available. The requested $1 donation will enter visitors in a 50/50 drawing. All funds raised will be used to offer qualifying Veterans the program free of charge.
