CRC Educational & Community Resources, Inc. along with other local community agencies is marking Family Literacy Fun Day on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from 10 am – 4pm on the block of 1982 McQuade Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32209.

This event has been designed to promote literacy and learning through activities such as, Picture Word Bingo, Reading Circles, Literacy arts & crafts, spelling relays, book walks, poetry citing and a visit from CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG. At the end of the day, each child will take home an age appropriate book and other literacy related information. 

By organizing this community-building event we hope to inspire students and families to constantly engage in family literacy activities. It is expected that over 300 participants will be involved in the event, including students, parents, local teachers, community agencies, and community-members.

The ultimate goal of the activities is to highlight the urgent need for a literate community and to engage students in literacy activities that are both diverse and fun.
