A cluster of t'storms is over the Southwestern Caribbean. This area bears watching as "something" tropical might try to slowly evolve & develop but could be more than a week from manifesting itself.

Interesting map below tweeted by Erik Pindrock shows virtually all of Fl. has experienced at least tropical storm force winds this year... as well as the entire Gulf Coast... & as far north as N. Carolina on the east coast:

Mid & upper level wind shear (enemy of tropical cyclones) analysis (CIMMS).

In the W. Pacific.... typhoon "Lan" has formed east of the Philippines & will move north. The tropical cyclone is expected to become intense before moving into Japan while the storm weakens late in the weekend/early next week.
