Kennedy Dendy joined Action News Jax as a General Assignment Reporter in January 2022 and is excited to call Jacksonville her new home! Prior to joining the Action News Jax team, Kennedy was the Weekend Morning Anchor and a General Assignment Reporter for KEZI 9 News in Eugene, OR for two years. Kennedy is an Emmy Award-Winning journalist, reporting on Western Oregon’s devastating wildfires in 2020. She also provided coverage surrounding the toll of the COVID-19 pandemic, social and civil unrest and the impact of the 2020 Presidential Election in her community. She was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and graduated from Baylor University in Waco, TX. There, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a minor in Media Management. Kennedy interned for CBS This Morning during the summer for 2019 where she assisted on shoots across New York City and contributed to the storytelling process with the Features team. When Kennedy is not in the field reporting, she’s most likely finding a new brunch spot to try, playing tennis or binge-watching a good TV show. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists. Kennedy is beyond excited to join the Action News Jax team.
