Class of 2024: Full-ride scholarship available for first-generation college students at FAU

FLORIDA — Florida Atlantic University in South Florida is offering a full ride scholarship to certain Class of 2024 undergraduate students.

The university is offering the FAU Kelly/Strul Emerging Scholars Program to support first-generation students who come from a low-income home. Qualifying students will be given the opportunity to graduate with their college degree debt-free.

To qualify, the student must be a Florida resident and would be a first-generation college student for the fall semester.

First-generation refers to a high school graduate with a parent or guardian who did not complete a four-year degree.

Applicants would have to complete a FAFSA application and display financial need.

“Each student applying for the program will be ranked and only a select few will be awarded this prestigious scholarship,” according to the university.

“We are proud to offer this scholarship to students who, traditionally, lack the support and financial means to succeed in college,” said Kelly/Strul Emerging Scholars Program co-founder Aubrey Strul. “We look forward to receiving entries from academically talented, hardworking, first-generation students from across Florida looking to improve their lives through education.”

Submit your application by Feb. 1, 2020 for the best consideration. For more information, click here.
