Florida Governor brings leaders together to work on solutions to keep students safe

Governor Rick Scott: “Violence has to stop we cannot lose another child in this country to violence in a school.” 

After the school shooting in Parkland that killed 17 students, Governor Rick Scott said he would organize meetings with state and local leaders to discuss ways to keep students safe. Those meetings will being Tuesday, Feb. 20.

  2. Workshop with child welfare advocates and behavioral health leaders from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.; 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  3. Workshop with Florida's law enforcement community from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.; 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  4. Roundtable with Governor Scott and leadership members from workshop groups at 5:30 p.m.
