JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Starting Tuesday, August 4, local families can apply for CARES Act funds that will be distributed by the Northeast Florida Community Action Agency (NFCAA). The money can be used to help with rent, utility payments, and self-sufficiency programs.
Families can apply if they live in Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnum, or St. Johns Counties.
In a news release, the NFCAA said “The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded the NFCAA an estimated $5 million dollars in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help with the agency’s COVID-19 pandemic response efforts.”
