Arson probe: Evidence from Park Place fire at lab for testing

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Investigators are waiting on results to come back on evidence from the house fire on Park Place in St. Augustine to determine whether it's arson.

Three other fires from Monday morning have been determined to be the work of an arsonist.  No arrests have been made.

The first of four fires happened just after 3 a.m. at a home at 45 Cordova Street.

Minutes later, firefighters responded to a second fire at a home on Saragossa Street,  just blocks from Ketterlinus Elementary School.

A third fire erupted at a home on Park Place in Lincolnville.  The St. Augustine Police Department said evidence from the home is being tested at a lab to deterine a cause.

The final fire burned a second home on Cordova Street.  Investigators say all four fires are connected but wouldn't say how.

St. Augustine police, St. Augustine fire, the State Fire Marshal and investigators with Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are working through leads from interviews they have been conducting.
