Baker County Sheriff’s Office arrested sex offender

Baker County, FL. — The Baker County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Buddy Champion on Feb. 23, and charged him with sexual battery on a victim under 18/Over 12 years of age; failure to report changes to telephone numbers & internet identifiers; distribution of obscene material to minors.

One day prior to his arrest, Baker County Detective McDuffie received information about Champion having a new and undocumented telephone number, as well as other social media accounts, which he failed to notify the county about.

Upon further investigation, it was found that Champion had been having a relationship that was both romantic and sexual in nature with a female who was 16 years old at the time of the offense(s).

Detective McDuffie located, interviewed, and arrested Champion Jr just one day after receiving this information.
