David Gray Plumbing worker fired after road rage incident

FLORIDA: Judge off bench after berating frail inmate who died 3 days later

A Green Cove Springs family says they are traumatized after a frightening road rage incident.

Clay County deputies say Casey Rowland, 24, pointed a fully loaded gun with a laser sight at a driver who had two children in the vehicle.

“He was driving like an idiot [so] I gave him the finger,” Bruce Davis said. “When he pointed the gun at me, it scared the crap out of me."

Davis says Rowland was cutting in and out of traffic in Middleburg on Saturday morning.

According to deputies,  Rowland was in a David Gray Plumbing van when he allegedly pointed the fully loaded gun at Davis and his fiancee. About 30 minutes later, he was pulled over by deputies on Blanding Boulevard.

Rowland was arrested by JSO for battery in 2012.

David Gray Plumbing sent Action News Jax this statement:

“Our team was shocked and troubled by this awful incident, and we extend our heartfelt apologies to the woman affected. As president of the company, I immediately terminated the electrician technician charged in the incident, as carrying any weapon on duty or while driving a company vehicle is in clear violation of our policies.

"I also spoke at length with the woman involved to offer our help to her as she and her family recover.”

The company said that Rowland was a technician and had worked for the company for 18 months.

“Our company does background checks on all personnel before hiring," Gary D. Gray, the President of David Gray Plumbing, said. "We were aware of Mr. Rowland’s previous misdemeanor conviction, but upon researching it, found that it did not disqualify him for employment.”

Rowland, who has a concealed weapons permit, reportedly had a suspended license. Deputies said they found a pipe with marijuana in it located in the vehicle.

Rowland is facing numerous charges, including aggravated assault without intent to kill and drug possession.
