Do you have new or gently used military boots sitting around that you no longer need or use?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla, — Fort Bragg in North Carolina is preparing a new memorial display, honoring service members who died in combat since the Sept. 11 attacks.

But before the display goes up, organizers say they need the public’s help.

They need 1,000 boots.

They will represent the 75-hundred service members who died in the fight against terrorism since 9/11.

Any style of military boot in presentable condition can be donated.

Watson says: “the reason why we need them is because about two years ago we had to kind of deplete our inventory because the boots were moldy. And some of the rubber heels — and stuff like that — had dry rotted due to extreme temperatures.”
