• Boy, 3, lies on Florida road, is injured in hit-and-run

    OCALA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a 3-year-old boy was lying on a road in rural Florida when he was struck and critically injured by a driver who fled the scene.

    The Ocala Star Banner reports that Florida Highway Patrol troopers say they're looking for the hit-and-run driver involved in the incident.

    The agency says the boy was lying in the northbound lane of the road early Friday in Ocala, but it was not clear why he was there. The boy is in critical condition at a Gainesville, Florida hospital.

    Witnesses told troopers the driver was a blonde woman in her 30s.
