Florida Capitol reopens to employees after bomb threat prompts closure

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced Thursday morning that the Florida Capitol in Tallahassee received a bomb threat overnight.

Authorities investigated the threat by sweeping the Capitol by LE & explosive-detecting K9′s.

No explosive devices were found and nothing suspicious was identified.

The threat prompted a temporary closure for Capitol employees Thursday, out of an abundance of caution, but has since reopened to employees, the FDLE said.

Officials are reminding the public to report any suspicious activity by calling 1-800-FLA-SAFE.
