RESOURCE: Call center for DCPS families looking for help during the first weeks of school

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As students head back to the classroom in Duval County, parents may still have some questions about the upcoming school year.

This year the school district announced a new hotline to help take a load off the school faculty staff and to give parents more attention to their needs.

Action News Jax anchor Dawn Lopez spoke with the director of School Choice, Cassandra Thomas, on how this new helpline will cut wait times and the services the new hotline will provide.

Thomas says this hotline can help parents with their basic needs and learning more about their children’s schools, “From enrollment, magnet, special assignment, transfer assignments, transportation, where’s my bus stop, what time to be there.”

This call center will be open to help parents navigate through the first weeks of school. The call center will be opened until Aug. 20.

If you are looking to get more information on your kid’s school or anything else that you might be worried about during the first weeks of school, you can call 904-348-7777.
