Warrant issued for man accused of burglarizing Moncrief area church in Jacksonville

Moncrief, FL. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) says a warrant’s been issued for a man accused of burglarizing a local church.

Investigators are now turning to the community for help in finding him.

Police say Joe Smith, 61, is accused of burglarizing St. Matthew Baptist Church in Moncrief in Aug.

JSO says a burglary to the church located in the area of 1300 29th Street West was reported on Monday, Aug.17.

“Anyone who has any information regarding the whereabouts of Joe Smith is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500 or email us at JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org,” said JSO public information officer, Cheyenne Meyer.
