FHP said that at approximately 11:30 p.m., a 56-year-old truck driver from Stone Mountain, Georgia, was heading north on I-75 when his vehicle was cut off by a passenger car. The semi swerved to the left and crossed the median into the southbound travel lanes.

At that time, a semi truck driven by a 51-year-old woman from Atlanta, Georgia, and occupied by a 38-year-old Jonesboro, Georgia, resident was traveling south on I-75. It was unable to avoid a collision and struck the semi that crossed the center median.
