2 teens hurt in Columbia County ATV crash

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — Two teens are seriously injured after an ATV crash Sunday night on NW Crawford Court.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the 15-year-old driver pulled the wheel too hard to the left when attempting to avoid a collision with an unknown vehicle around 8 p.m.

The driver was ejected, the ATV continued east across both lanes of traffic and plunged into a ditch, which caused the 14-year-old passenger to be ejected.

Both victims were taken to Shands Hospital for precautionary measures for complaints of numbness, FHP said.

Charges are pending further investigation.
