245 new COVID-19 deaths reported in Florida, including seven locally

FLORIDA — Florida health officials reported 245 new COVID-19 deaths and 5,446 new coronavirus cases in the state on Tuesday morning.

The state’s total case numbers have now reached 497,330 with 7,402 deaths, according to the Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard.

Officials said 410 new cases of the virus have been reported in Northeast Florida, including 204 new cases in Duval County.

Locally, seven new COVID-19 deaths have been reported: one in Clay, two in Columbia, two in Duval, one in Putnam and one in St. Johns counties.

A record number of 586 new coronavirus hospitalizations were reported statewide.
