3 agencies assist in high-speed chase

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. — Joseph Jacob Macquarrie is in custody after a high-speed chase Friday morning.
 
Three agencies assisted in the incident: Baker County Sheriff's Office, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and Florida Highway Patrol.
 
The BCSO said the chase started in Macclenney just before 11 a.m.

Officer Jeremiah Combs stopped Macquarrie in reference to a faulty brake light, according to Baker County Sheriff's Office.

Macquarrie claimed he left his license at home, and stated that his name was Matthrew Hodges .  Combs contacted dispatch to verfify his name, then asked him to step out of his vehicle.

Macquarrie then drove away.  The driver tried to run after FHP used a pursuit tactic to stop the vehicle. Macquarrie was caught with the help of a K-9 unit.

The chase ended on Jacksonville's Westside on Ramona Boulevard.
 
No officers were injured in the incident.
 
Macquarrie was arrested by the Florida Highway Patrol and a warrant is being issued through the Baker County Sheriff's Office for resisting without violence, driving on a suspended license, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and fleeing and attempting to elude.
