4 homes in Jacksonville's Murray Hill neighborhood hit in drive-by shooting

Four homes in a Murray Hill neighborhood were struck with bullets during a drive-by shooting Tuesday.

"I was in the kitchen eating and heard a shot, and I said, 'That sounds like a gunshot,'" a neighbor, who didn’t want to be identified, said.

A neighbor said he heard at least seven gunshots early Tuesday outside his house.

"It started getting louder and louder. It was coming down the street and zoomed by," the man said.

Another neighbor said he and his dad were awakened by loud noise.

Action News Jax followed detectives up and down the street going to different houses that were struck and it appeared they were all hit in the same area in front of the home.

"I was in the back of the house like, 'Dang, glad I was back there,'” a neighbor said.

And Action News Jax went into two houses where the bullets went into the home and were found in the living rooms.

"Sounded like a piece of glass breaking," a neighbor said.

One of the homeowners said the bullet came just feet away from his head.

Two miles away, seven vehicles were also struck by bullets in a Riverside neighborhood.

"It's very random. That's the first time anything like that has happened," a neighbor said.

A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detective said that the bullets in this neighborhood all came from the same gun.

A neighbor said he saw a lifted extended cab truck drive away from the area.

Action News Jax reached out to JSO officials to see if they believe the shootings are connected.
