76-year-old man shot, killed in A Phillip Randolph shooting identified

Neighbors on Jacksonville's Eastside wonder if they could be the next victim of a shooting.

This comes following a drive-by shooting of 6 people on A Phillip Randolph Boulevard and Pippin Street, just two weeks ago.

Action News Jax has now learned the name of the victim that died in that shooting.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is identifying him as 76-year-old Robert Lee Williams.

JSO told Action News Jax Courtney Cole they don’t have any new information to release on the investigation at this time.

On Tuesday, she went out to speak to neighbors on the Eastside to see how they’re feeling with no known arrests or leads in this case.

"I think it’s a shame for something like that to happen,” said Oscar Collins, Sr.

Collins said he's been living on the Eastside for 40 years now.

"I used to live right there on Odessa,” Collins told Action News Jax, just one street over from where the shooting happened on Oct. 21.

"They’ve got that funeral home and the church. But when they put that washing mat there it got worse. The ‘hanger rounds’ right in that area,” Collins said.

Six people were shot.

Victims ranged between the ages of 20s-to-70s.

JSO said it was a drive-by shooting.

They've tweeted out pictures of cars they believe to be involved — but so far, no arrests have been made.

No suspects have been identified.

"I’m not going to say they need to get out there and stomp the street and shake the grass. I believe they could do better than what they are doing,” said Collins.

When Action News Jax Courtney Cole asked him what JSO could do better, he said assign officers to watch over commonly-known troubled areas.

If not, he asked, what's to stop the suspect or suspects— from doing it again?

"Just like they killed him, they’ll ride by here and shoot me or anybody else,” Collins said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call

Crimestoppers, which can be done anonymously,  at 866-845-TIPS.
