Alabama man helps rescue kids after car catches fire in Baker County

A man helped rescue children after the car they were in hit a tree and caught fire in Baker County on Saturday.

Buddy Todd was traveling home to Alabama when he saw a car on fire on I-10 in Sanderson.

Two little girls, ages 7 and 9, and a little boy were pulled from the burning car.

The girls were conscious but the little boy was unresponsive.

A woman who stopped to help tried to do CPR on the boy but was unsuccessful. He died at the scene.

Todd tried to help three adults who were inside the car but said it was too late for them.

Someone in a semi-truck stopped and gave him a fire extinguisher and he tried to put the fire out as more trucks pulled over to help.

He said the whole thing is a blur and he wants to know how the girls are doing.

Florida Highway Patrol has not yet released the identities of the people involved in the crash.
