Arrest made in murder of Brunswick grandparents, grandchild

People living in one Brunswick community are relieved that police have arrested the man they say is behind a triple murder in their community.

22-year old Roger Owens is facing three murder charges.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Owens killed an elderly couple and their grandson, inside their home in June.

Sheila Anderson says she always had a bad feeling about Owens.

"It was something kind of fishy, about him, you know what I'm saying. I always thought, it was something funny about him," said Anderson.

She says her gut instinct was right after finding out the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Brunswick Police arrested Owens on murder charges.

Police say he shot and killed Carson Holliman Senior, Vondell Holliman and their grandson Christopher Holliman inside their Brunswick home in June.

Church members called police to check on them after they didn't show up to services that morning.

"Them people aint bothered nobody, so they didn't deserve to be treated, like the way he did them," said Anderson.

For months police interviewed neighbors and family members, but Anderson says the suspect was right there the whole time.

"Yeah, all the time, walking up and down the street, because he got an aunt, that lives right in front of them. My nephew, was riding with him in the car, but my nephew didn't know anything about it, when police stopped him. Really, I'm glad, caught him," said Anderson.

Investigators still have not released a motive in the murders.
