Attorney General: Man allegedly choked disabled adult at group home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A former employee at the Shady Pine Group Home is under arrest for allegedly choking a disabled adult resident.

Mark Keith Griffin, 44, was arrested Tuesday by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and the state's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit on a warrant of abuse of an elderly or disabled adult, according to a release from Attorney General Pam Bondi's office.

The tip about Griffin was reported to the Florida Department of Children and Families' Adult Protective Services.

According to the release, Griffin faces $5,000 in fines and five years in prison if convicted of the third-degree felony charge.
