Be thankful for the bugs this Thanksgiving -- Yes, you read that right

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — There's lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season: Family, friends and -- bugs!

Yes, you read that right. According to Nader's Pest Raiders, a pest, termite control and lawn services company in the Jacksonville area, the following bugs are actually beneficial to us:

Dragonflies: They can take care of any mosquito problem. Nader's Pest Raiders said they typically live in mosquito breeding areas and feed on them.

Big-eyed bugs: These bugs feed on mites, insect eggs and small insects. The adult bugs can eat at least 80 spider mites a day and the nymphs reportedly can eat as many as 1,600 spider mites before reaching adulthood.

Ladybugs: Who doesn't love ladybugs? Not only do they bring you good luck, but  they are also helpful to gardeners because they feed on aphids that can be harmful to plants.

If you want to have a healthy garden at your home, consider buying ladybugs to keep pests away.

Honeybees: "There are so many reasons to be thankful for this insect," Mike Malone, a Nader's Pest Expert said. "They are very social in nature, and they not only produce a sweet treat we all enjoy, they pollinate beautiful flowers and more than 100 different crops across the United States, including apples, squash, soybeans and nuts."
