Bear spotted in Fleming Island

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Imagine seeing a black bear on your morning walk around the neighborhood. That image was a reality in the Fleming Island area today, as a bear was spotted along Hibernia Road.

TRENDING:

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisting Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and asked that anyone who spots the bear to contact the authorities right away.

FWC spokesperson Karen Parker says if you come across a bear, do not approach it, and don’t feed it.  Call the FWC at 888-404-3922.

🐻: We bearly missed this beautiful creature - even after sitting out various picnic baskets and jars of honey (j/k)....
