Action News Jax Princess Jhane Stepherson was there for the coffee shop’s ribbon cutting. The coffee shop advocates for those with disabilities.

Bitty and Beau’s coffee shop is a human rights movement disguised as a coffee shop. Today their efforts to make sure anyone with disabilities have meaningful work was accomplished. I spoke with the co-founder of Bitty Beau’s Amy Wright and her son Beau Wright.

Amy tells me that 80% of people with disabilities are unemployed in the U.S. She says Bitty and Beaus creates growing opportunity in the community. Bitty and Beau’s coffee shop has grown to over 23 shops across 12 different states employing over 400 people and as you can see Jacksonville is now a part of its growing numbers.

The coffee shop has an expansive menu ranging from strawberry shortcake cake pops to cinnamon rolls.

“We have every specialty drink you can imagine from frappes to lattes to cappuccinos and lots of baked goods, something for everyone,” says Amy Wright.

Bitty and Beau’s mission is to make sure that everyone’s potential is seen as they hope to encourage employers around the world to hire people with disabilities.

“Believe in your dreams,” says Beau Wright.

Bitty and Beau’s coffee shop is open every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is located at 1965 San Marco Blvd.
