Blood found on Kimberly Kessler's sock, boot almost exact match to Joleen Cummings

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — Evidence never before made public is now shedding light on what may have happened to Nassau County mom Joleen Cummings.

Action News Jax has dug through newly released documents in the case against Cummings' co-worker Kimberly Kessler. They show chilling details of where police found blood.

According to the documents, DNA analysis says the blood found on Kessler's sock and boot was almost an exact match to Cummings.

This is evidence that the attorneys defending Kessler did not want made public, saying it would taint the jury pool.

But a judge ordered the State Attorney's Office to release this evidence in a phase called discovery.

Action News Jax showed you new photos released to us Thursday of Kessler buying cleaning products and a knife at a Nassau County Walmart.

But on Friday, even more new evidence shows blood was found on Kessler's boot and a sock that was almost a certain match to that of Cummings.

According to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement, DNA tests of blood splatter inside the Tangles salon where both women worked also matched Cummings' DNA.

The discovery also shows Kessler used 25 different names and lived in 35 cities. She's in the Duval County Jail right now, accused of first-degree murder after she was indicted by a grand jury. Also in the evidence, a pair of scissors also tested positive for Cummings' DNA.
