Mom accused of leaving son in hot car is out of jail

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A mom charged with child neglect without great bodily harm is out of jail Wednesday.

A judge set a bond for Michelle King, who is charged with child neglect without great bodily harm, during her first appearance. Nassau County charged King after one of her children rescued their 18-month-old brother from a hot car in Yulee on Tuesday.

The judge found probable cause on the charges against her. The judge set a $10,002 bond with the condition that she does not have contact with the victim if she bonds out.

The young boy, according to investigators, spent several hours in the car before being rescued. A nursing supervisior at UF Health told Action News the boy is in serious condition.
