Boy Scouts American Values Dinner raises $444,231 for local scouting

The Boy Scouts North Florida Council hosted the annual American Values Dinner on Tuesday and raised $444,231 for local Scouting. Action News Jax anchor John Bachman hosted the evening.

The money helps make the Scouting program available to young people throughout Northeast Florida. Action News Jax was proud to do their part to support the Boy Scouts mission, "To instill values in young people."

The dinner honored two local businessmen: Steve Bacalis, of Tom Nehl Truck Company, and J.F. Bryan IV, of the Bryan Group. Both honorees have been actively involved in the Boy Scouts North Florida Council and the entire North Florida community.

The dinner chairman was David Mann, of Suntrust Bank, and the co-chairman was Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams.
