Bradford County man who broke into ex-girlfriend's home, touched her feet, arrested, police say

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. — The Bradford County Sheriff's Office arrested Dequonte Joshua Cooper, 28, after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend's house on SW 163rd Street in Starke on Monday, police say.

According to the police report, Cooper's ex-girlfriend called police at 12:50 a.m. and told them that Cooper admitted to coming over to her house. She told deputies that Cooper broke in through the back door and went into her bathroom for approximately one minute.

The woman said Cooper exited her house and then re-entered for approximately eight minutes. During this time, Cooper went inside her bedroom and touched her feet and toes, the report said.

At 4 p.m., Cooper arrived at the Bradford County Sheriff's Office and told deputies what happened. Cooper said that he went to his ex-girlfriend's house because he missed her and wanted to see her. Cooper said that he touched her foot by accident because it was so close to the door at the time, police say.

Cooper was arrested on simple battery touch or strike and burglary with assault or battery charges, the report said. Police intend to obtain a copy of the victim's security camera footage during a follow-up.
