Fire at Preserve At San Jose Condominiums in Mandarin

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An apartment fire at the Preserve At San Jose Condominiums in Mandarin was reported around 4 a.m. Saturday, according to JFRD.

At least 12 units have been destroyed and 30 people displaced, officials say.

A man woke up to heavy smoke in his apartment and walked outside to find more smoke and firefighters banging on tenants' doors. They were warning residents to wake up and evacuate.

JFRD says they found the fire by noticing fire coming from the roof and heavy smoke in the area. The agency has requested investigators and the Red Cross.
