Jacksonville business hopes for successful football season

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jags have their first pick for the draft, and now businesses are hoping for a successful year.

Fans like John Spinda say they’re looking forward to it. “We got to see who’s going to pass the torch. after we got the quarterback last year we are ready for the next step.”

While fans gathered at Sneakers for a draft watch party, “biggest sports bar here so I figured why not and it’s what we’re here to do.”

“It’s probably one of the best places to come and watch. the food, the TVs, the atmosphere I love it,” said fan Lorenzo, businesses like restaurants, bars, and anywhere with a flatscreen- hopes the jags also get a good pick.

“For us to draft is always a good night. It’s the anticipation of who’s going where was this season going to be set up.”

When a team is successful, more people show up.  The manager at sneakers, Randal Roberts, says nights like these are important, and they get even more important when the team performs well.

“When there’s a good season we get a lot more people,” Roberts says.

After last season- it’s vital the jags do well, for more than just the teams’ sake.

“Well, usually it’s a little bit busier but it’ll probably pick up so we’ll see what happens from there.”

But for businesses as well.

“So I’m looking for a good football season next year. I anticipate that will get a lot busier than we have been”

Now that the jags have chosen Travon Walker- it’s time to see what will happen, this season.

“We put in the time in the effort we come and support every season so it’s definitely our time to come out on top,” says major fan Madi.
