Camden County Schools experience driver shortage, parents urged to provide their own transportation

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — Although the school year has just begun, COVID-19 has already had a huge impact on students, their families and school staff.

Camden County Schools has announced a shortage of drivers due to illness or quarantine. A message on the county’s homepage is encouraging parents to provide their own transportation.

However, for those who cannot provide their own transportation, the message says to be aware of bus delays anywhere from one and a half-hours to two hours before and after school.

“We ask for you to extend patience and grace to our transportation staff and drivers as they work to provide bus service to your children,” the message stated.
