Clay County deputies investigating fatal shooting at Wells Road motel

The Clay County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal shooting that happened about 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, police said.

According to CCSO, the shooting occurred after 2 males, described as acquaintances, were involved in an isolated incident at the Stay Suite Inn off of Wells Road.

Deputies say the shooter and witnesses are cooperating with their investigation.

Both men involved are from out of the area, CCSO said.
