Clay County Sheriff investigating incident at commissioner's meeting

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The Clay County Sheriff's Office is investigating a report of a possible battery at the Clay County commissioners meeting.

Stanley Pfenning told deputies he was videotaping people leaving the meeting when James Studdard pushed his camera into him.  The shove caused Pfenning to stumble backwards.

The encounter, according to Pfenning, broke his video camera and cracked the touchscreen panel.

Pfenning also claims he has some pain in his back from a previous injury.

The camera is valued at $300.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office said Pfenning initially refused to turn over the camera or memory card as evidence but he eventually agreed to give those items to investigators.
