GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — The City of Green Cove Springs voted Tuesday night to not mandate masks at indoor public spaces. The vote failed after hearing from several people in the community.
Under the proposed emergency ordinance, face coverings would be mandated inside, when you can’t social distance. Vice Mayor Ed Gaw said wearing a mask is the least we can do for our most vulnerable.
The ordinance failed in a 3-2 vote by the council. It needed a 4-1 vote to pass.
