CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Clay County’s Emergency Management Director John Ward tells Action News Jax new vaccine appointments should be available starting next Wednesday.
Starting next Wednesday, he said the county will release information about how many new vaccines will be available before noon. He tells Action News Jax the appointment booking windows will open at 3 p.m.
“What we’re really trying to do is give a three-hour heads-up. But then also having it regularly every Wednesday,” Ward said.
Ward said no new appointments are available at this time because the county has not received new allotments of the vaccine. He said the county did not receive a vaccine shipment this week.
“Because we do not open the appointments until we physically have the vaccine in hand,” Ward said.
Starting next week, he said new allotments of the vaccine should come in on a weekly basis.
“We’ve been advised by our state and federal partners that starting next week, we should get a weekly delivery of the doses,” said Ward. “It may be smaller numbers. It may be 100, or it may be 2,000.”
