Clay County District Schools Police investigating social media threats

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Authorities are investigating a social media threat that was circulating around to many Clay County students.

Agencies involved in the investigation include the Clay County District Schools Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the Green Cove Springs Police Department and the Orange Park Police Department.

The messages were posted on Snapchat and referred to an active shooter.

The school police posted on Tuesday about the threats.

According to a CCDSPD Facebook post from Wednesday morning, more social posts have circulated referencing a threat at Clay County Schools.

The post goes on to say that the newer social media post “apparently formed conclusions of what they heard.”

School police say they take these threats seriously and are actively investigating the posts.
